RaxBoard Core — Core

A new release is now available on the RaxBoard Marketplace.

Version: 1.8.0 (build 20260832)
Compatibility: RaxBoard >=1.0.0

What's new

Classic emoticons now turn into emoji. Typing :) :D ;) :( :p and 30+ other classic triggers now renders the matching emoji, in post bodies and in thread titles alike. The emoji picker is unchanged — these ship as typing shortcuts, and you can edit or remove any of them under Admin → Smilies. Ordinary writing is left alone: "2008)", "a) b)", "10:00", link addresses and [code] / [math] blocks never convert.

Fixes

  • Renaming a thread left the old title on the forum listing. The new title now propagates to the forum listing cache, the featured-content card, notification records and the thread's URL slug in one step. Existing stale rows are repaired during the upgrade.
  • Saving a thread with a long title could fail with a 500 error. Transliterating Turkish or German characters could push the URL slug past its column limit; the slug is now trimmed at a word boundary.
  • The approval queue could corrupt the forum listing. Approving or rejecting a thread updated the forum's "last post" information only partially, and zeroed it for threads with no replies.
  • Deleting a member no longer leaves records behind. Notifications, search-index entries, attachments (and their files), reactions, bookmarks and profile-wall posts belonging to the removed content are cleaned up as well, and the affected thread and forum counters are recalculated. When content is reassigned instead, the displayed author name moves to the new owner too.
  • Bulk user deletion no longer counts failed deletions as successful.

Upgrade note

Three database repairs run during the upgrade (migrations 1058-1060) and fix existing rows in place. On very large boards, running the upgrade from the command line (php bin/raxboard migrate:run) avoids any web-request timeout.
