# RaxBoard 1.8.7
**An add-on whose files are still on disk can be installed again.**
If an add-on's folder was left behind — an uninstall that kept the files, an
interrupted install, or a package unpacked by hand — the board ended up in a
state it could not get out of. Installing it reported *"already installed,
uninstall it first"*, while uninstalling was impossible because the add-on never
appeared in your add-on list. There was no way forward from the admin panel at
all; the only fix was deleting the folder over FTP or SSH.
Installing now recognises that situation for what it is — leftover files with no
installed add-on behind them — and simply replaces them. Both routes are
covered: the marketplace's one-click install and a manual ZIP upload.
Nothing changes when an add-on really is installed: uploading a newer package
still runs the normal upgrade, and uploading the same or an older one is still
refused.
No database changes and no new migrations.
