What's new
RaxBoard 1.7.3
This release fixes three features that were silently switched off in 1.7.2. Each
one failed without an error message, an error log entry, or any other sign that
something was wrong — the feature simply did nothing.
ADVERTISEMENT TARGETING
The "Show on these themes" and "Limit to these forums" pickers on the
advertisement form listed nothing at all. Both dropdowns now list every style
and every forum on your board, and your selections save and reload correctly.
Soft-deleted forums are no longer offered, since an ad targeted at one could
never be shown.
PROMOTED TOPIC ROWS
The "Sponsored" badge on a promoted topic row always appeared in English,
whatever language the visitor was reading in. It is now translated, including
Turkish.
PRIVATE MESSAGE REPLIES
Replying to a conversation skipped three rules that starting a conversation has
always applied:
- a member who blocked you could still receive your replies
- [HIDE] tags were not stripped for authors who may not use them
- @mentions in a reply notified nobody
All three now work on the reply path. Two related refinements ship with them: a
participant who has LEFT a conversation can no longer block the remaining
members from talking to each other, and a mention no longer overrides the mute
you set on a noisy conversation.
RSS FEED IMPORT
The feed form defaulted the posting account to user ID 1. On boards installed
with 1.7.2 that ID belongs to an internal system account, so imported articles
were attributed to it. The form now defaults to your administrator account.
UPGRADE NOTES
No configuration changes are required. One new migration runs automatically and
adds a single phrase. Existing advertisements, conversations and feeds are
untouched.
