# Dash 1.0.0
First public release.
Dash is a dense, dark-first community look for RaxBoard: a charcoal top bar
and navigation bar and a charcoal footer that stay dark in light mode too,
warm orange accents, compact forum and thread rows with count columns, an
author rail beside every post, a cover-photo profile and a two-pane sign-in.
Text is set in Instrument Sans, headings in Familjen Grotesk and small labels
in JetBrains Mono. Dark mode is the default; the board can switch the default
to light, and members keep their own choice.
## Layout
- **Header** — the logo, a search field, conversations, notifications and the
account menu on the top bar; the navigation bar below it carries the links
with icons and the light / dark switch, and moves items that do not fit into
a "More" menu. The header can also be flat, floating or shrink while the
page scrolls.
- **Home** — a page title card with New posts, Mark forums read and New
thread, featured content and category cards with a bullet or the category
icon, a forum count, the description and a collapse toggle that is
remembered per category. Forum rows show an icon tile that marks unread
content (a lock for closed forums), sub-forum chips, thread and message
counts and the last post with avatar. A forum that is not inside a category
gets the same card as the others, and board statistic cards close the page.
- **Thread list** — a header card with Watch and New thread, sort tabs, the
prefix filter, prefix pills, tinted sticky threads with a Sticky badge,
replies, views and the last reply; thread management for moderators is
kept.
- **Thread** — a header card with the starter, replies, views, participants
and the thread actions, and an author rail with a large avatar, the member's
name and role pill, banners, trophies and points, reputation and solutions.
Quotes, code blocks, polls, the image viewer and the quick reply follow the
theme. The author block can also be a top band, a slim row or a narrow rail.
- **Profile** — a cover image or the theme's pattern, an identity card with the
actions, six statistic cards, tabs and side cards.
- **Pages** — members, What's New, search, tags, help, conversations,
notifications, account settings and the style tweaks panel use the same
cards and tab bars.
- **Sign-in** — login and register share a two-pane card with the board's
brand panel, as a dialog and as a page; captcha, terms, passkeys, the
password strength meter, phone verification and your sign-in providers are
kept. The "not found" page offers a search field.
- **Footer** — the board description, link groups, the theme, style and
language pickers and the RSS link.
## On phones
- The header and the footer run edge to edge. The top bar shrinks to the menu
button, the logo, search and the account buttons; the menu opens the
navigation together with a search field, the light / dark switch and, for
guests, Register and Log in.
- Forum rows stack with the last post under the description, sub-forums open
as an aligned set of chips, cards run edge to edge, and threads show the
author as a band above the message.
- Touch targets are at least 44 pixels.
## Theming
- 111 style properties across brand, surfaces, header, navigation, mobile
menu, forum rows, category heads, thread list, widgets, author rail, footer
and sign-in; every one is wired to the stylesheet and every colour has its
own light and dark value and a colour picker.
- The admin Customizer is fully supported: live preview, 7 Dash elements of
its own (thread header, post card, editor box, page card, profile cover,
sign-in card and error card) on top of the core elements, and the layout
options density, header, thread view, post layout, motion, spacing, type
scale, radius, shadow and sidebar position.
- Member style tweaks work: primary and accent colour, post layout, avatar
shape, corner radius, density, font size, forum view and colour scheme.
- Text sizes follow the member's font size setting.
- Readable colours (WCAG AA) in light and dark mode, including the keyboard
"Skip to content" link, the focus rings and mention chips: member mentions
and group mentions such as everyone, staff or moderators get their own
colours.
- Theme texts ship in English, Turkish, French, Russian, Arabic, German,
Azerbaijani and Spanish.
- Every RaxBoard advertisement position and template hook is kept.
