# Maintenance release — translation safety on upgrade
This release exists for one fix, shared by every bundled add-on.
**Upgrading an add-on no longer overwrites your translations.** Phrase seeding ran on every upgrade with an unconditional overwrite, so any string you had edited in Admin → Languages was silently reset to the shipped English or Turkish text — and you would only notice by reading the page. On a large add-on that meant hundreds of rows reset per upgrade.
Seeding on upgrade now inserts the keys the release adds and leaves every existing row exactly as you left it. A fresh install still seeds everything, because there is nothing to protect on a board that has never had the add-on.
One consequence worth knowing: a corrected translation that we ship no longer reaches a board that already has that key. When we deliberately need to correct a shipped string, the add-on now does it in a targeted upgrade step that only rewrites the row when it still holds the exact previous text — so your edit is still safe.
Requires RaxBoard 1.8.5 or newer, which carries the seeding change itself.
