What's new
# RaxBoard Blog 2.1.1
Requires RaxBoard core 1.9.1 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer, as before. Upgrade in place; articles, categories and settings are kept. This is a security update: install it on every board that runs the Blog.

### Security
- **Hidden content no longer reaches summaries and covers.** Text and images inside hidden-content blocks (the hide BBCode and its variants, such as members only or reply to see) are locked in the post itself. Until now they could still reach guests, and members who cannot open the block, through:
- the article summary, the card text and the cover image;
- the RSS and JSON feeds;
- the article's description and social preview tags (og:description, og:image, JSON-LD);
- the related articles list, the featured strip, the Featured articles widget and the home page featured cards.
How it happened:
- The card grid that can replace the thread list, search and what's new built its text and image from the whole opening post, hidden blocks included.
- Pushing a thread to the blog could pick an image inside a hidden block as the cover, or an attachment that the post names only there.
- A hidden block placed inside nested quotes could leave part of its text in the summary.
Hidden blocks are now removed before any summary or cover is made, for every visitor. The post itself is unchanged: whoever can open a block still sees it in the thread.
- **Existing articles are repaired during the upgrade.** A summary or cover that was made from a hidden block of the opening post is made again without it, including summaries written by older Blog versions. A summary or cover that staff typed or chose themselves is kept, unless it repeats a word that only the hidden block contains.
- **A card image can no longer change the page layout.** An image address in a post could carry characters that ended the card's style. One post could then lay a coloured layer or another image over the whole page on the card grid. These characters are now encoded on the card grid, in the blog front page's featured strip and in the Featured articles widget.
### Fixed
- The card grid text no longer shows attachment numbers, image addresses or long link codes from the post. It uses the same plain-text rules as article summaries.
- The card grid only takes an image with a full web address (http or https) or an image on the board itself.
**Note:** a page that a cache or a search engine stored before the update can show the old summary until it is refreshed.
