What's new
# Credits 1.0.0 — first release
Credits adds a free credits economy to your RaxBoard community: currencies of your own, earning rules tied to board events, member wallets, transfers, currency exchange, redeem codes and leaderboards, with a double-entry ledger behind every change.
## Currencies
- Several currencies side by side, each with its own title, singular and plural unit, symbol before or after the amount, icon and accent colour.
- 0 to 4 decimals, fixed once the currency has transactions.
- Daily and weekly earning caps, who may see balances, and whether the currency can be sent, exchanged or shown on leaderboards.
- Titles and units can become translatable texts that translators edit under Languages.
## Earning rules
- More than 20 board events: new threads and replies, replies in a member's own threads, revived threads, attachments, reactions given and received, new followers, private messages, profile posts written and received, registration, first avatar, useful reports, warnings, daily visits with a streak bonus, birthdays, regular payments, interest, tax and inactivity charges. Resource Hub and Classifieds add their own events when installed.
- Every rule reads as a sentence and gives or takes credits: a fixed amount plus an amount per word, character or other unit, with minimums and maximums.
- Limits: chosen forums or categories, user groups, a waiting time, a maximum number of times per member, every Nth time only, an expiry for the credits a rule gives, priority and exclusive rules.
- Optional moderator approval, an alert for each award, and a choice for deleted or unapproved content: take back exactly what was given, a set amount, or keep it.
- A simulator shows what a rule would pay before it goes live, and "Apply to older content" runs a rule over past posts.
- Three presets (Starter, Engagement, Marketplace) and JSON import and export of rules. The Starter rules are active right after installation.
- Post size counts words or characters, can ignore quotes and repeated words, and can treat posts below a minimum size as size 0.
## Wallet and member pages
- A wallet with balances, credits that expire soon and recent activity; a full history with filters, a receipt page for every transaction and CSV export.
- A personal "How to earn credits" page: the rules that apply to the member and how much of their limits is used.
- Personal settings: hide the balance from other members, stay off the leaderboards, turn off the short on-screen notice when credits arrive, refuse transfers.
- Alerts for credits from other members, staff adjustments, rule awards set to alert, held awards approved or rejected, and credits about to expire.
## Transfers, exchange and redeem codes
- Send credits to another member through a check step that shows what you send, the fee, what the recipient gets and your balance afterwards.
- Transfer options: a fee paid by the sender or the receiver, a message, a minimum account age and post count, a daily number and amount of transfers (the amount can be raised or lowered per user group), and a waiting time before freshly earned credits can be sent.
- Exchange one currency for another at relative values you set, with a fee per currency and a daily limit.
- Redeem codes, one by one or in batches, with use limits and a CSV download; wrong guesses are limited.
- Amounts are read in the member's number format, with the language's decimal separator.
## Balances on the board
- Balances in the user menu or the header, beside posts, in member cards and on profiles; each currency chooses where it appears.
- A public page with the ways to earn, leaderboards (richest, earned this week, this month and in total) and three widgets: my wallet, leaderboard and recent activity.
## Staff tools
- An approval queue for moderators, with bulk approve and reject.
- An economy dashboard: credits in circulation, 30-day issued and spent totals, top holders and earners, and members who send credits back and forth.
- A member screen to adjust a balance (optionally expiring), lock spending, release reservations and reverse a member's awards.
- Bulk grant or charge for user groups, and a searchable transaction list with reversal and CSV export.
- Tools to reconcile now, rebuild caches and statistics and repair a wallet, and a health panel that shows which board features Credits can use.
- Separate permissions for viewing, earning, sending, exchanging, redeeming, seeing other members' balances, moderating, member ledgers, configuration, adjustments and reversals.
## Ledger and safety
- Every change is a balanced double-entry transaction; a repeated request is never booked twice, and every row carries a checksum.
- Reconciliation twice an hour compares wallets with the ledger, finds missed or outdated awards and alerts super administrators when something does not add up.
- On uninstall you can keep currencies, wallets and the ledger in archive tables.
## Privacy
- When an account is deleted or anonymised, Credits closes its wallets, clears its settings, removes its awards and other personal records and blanks the transfer messages it wrote; other members keep their history and amounts.
- A daily run catches accounts deleted while Credits was switched off.
## For other add-ons
- A public interface to read balances and to charge, award, refund, reserve and capture credits, and to add earning events. Classifieds uses it for listing fees and promotions.
## Languages, themes and accessibility
- English and Turkish texts.
- Follows the board's theme in light and dark mode, on phones and desktops, and in right-to-left languages.
- Headings in order, screen-reader labels for ranks and progress bars, an error summary that moves focus to the first field to fix, and exchange quotes that are read out when they change.
## Requirements
- RaxBoard 1.9.7 or newer: Credits builds on add-on extension points that first shipped in 1.9.7, such as the balance rows beside posts and in member cards.
- PHP 8.1 or newer.
- The board's scheduled tasks running (daily visits, periodic rules, expiry, reconciliation, statistics, maintenance).
- Optional: Resource Hub and Classifieds add earning events of their own.
## On RaxBoard 1.9.8
- On RaxBoard 1.9.8 the Trophy awarded trigger becomes available (on 1.9.7 the rule builder shows it disabled and presets skip it): rules on it, added then or by applying the Engagement preset (5 credits per trophy point), pay credits for trophies awarded after the upgrade. Trophies awarded before the upgrade, and trophies granted silently to members who already qualify when a trophy is created or its rule changes, are not paid; a member is paid at most once per trophy.
- The Solution marked trigger also becomes available on 1.9.8: the Starter preset then adds its rule (25 credits to the author of a marked solution; unmarking reverses it). Installed on 1.9.8, Credits seeds it with the other Starter rules; installed on 1.9.7, apply the Starter preset again after the upgrade.
- The code boxes on the Credits admin pages use the colour of the admin card headers.
