Kuroxis — Theme

A new release is now available on the RaxBoard Marketplace.

Version: 1.0.37 (build 10037)
Compatibility: RaxBoard >=1.9.7

What's new
Kuroxis 1.0.37

Requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before. Colours and settings you
changed are kept on update. Updating replaces this theme's own templates;
Custom CSS, style settings and logos are kept.

Added

- Member profile, Warnings tab (RaxBoard 1.9.8): every warning now has the
"Edit warning" button, as in the default theme. It shows only to staff with
the "Edit Issued Warnings" permission and opens the same edit window as in
the default theme. On RaxBoard 1.9.7 nothing changes, because editing an
issued warning arrives with 1.9.8.
- A forum placed directly at the top level of the forum list (not inside a
category) now sits in its own card, set apart from the category above it.
Before, it looked like part of that category.

Fixed

- Messages at the top of the page (for example "saved" or an error): they
close with the close button or with a click on the message, now also with
the strict Content Security Policy (CSP_STRICT=1). A link inside a message
no longer closes it. The close button is named "Dismiss" for screen
readers.
- Private conversation page with the strict Content Security Policy: the
conversation's own buttons (details, "Leave Conversation") no longer use
inline event handlers, so they keep working under the strict policy. The
"Leave Conversation" question looks and works as before. Nothing changes on
a board without the strict policy.

Changed

- Icons appear sooner: the page now asks for the icon font right away.
- Letter avatars (members without a profile picture) use the darker colour
set of RaxBoard 1.9.8, so the white initials are readable (WCAG AA, at least
4.5:1). Every member keeps the same colour family.
- Light mode: the "Secondary text" colour is a little darker (#676E7C becomes
#636A77), so secondary text on the page background reaches WCAG AA (4.51:1,
was 4.25:1). Dark mode is unchanged.
- If you changed the "Secondary text" colour, your colour is kept. If you
edited this theme's Custom CSS, your copy is kept, and with it your avatar
colours.

Kuroxis 1.0.38: readability and layout fixes



Kuroxis 1.0.38 is out. It requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before, and keeps the colours, logos, Custom CSS and settings you changed. Updating reinstalls the theme's own templates; this update changes the page header (partials/header) and the member profile (profile/show), so back them up first if you edited them. The fixes are in the theme's own stylesheet, which loads after Custom CSS: if you restyled the breadcrumbs, the forum list's latest post column, the footer mode buttons or the prefix filter there, check them after updating.

  • Header, light mode: the "Log In" link is now easy to read on the dark header (contrast 9.2:1, was 2.4:1).
  • Footer mode buttons: the Light / Dark / System buttons that are not selected use the footer link colour in every browser (6.2:1, was 1.9:1 in light mode).
  • Board description under the logo: now cut by the available width instead of after 26 characters; it ends with "..." and shows the full text when you point at it.
  • Breadcrumbs: thread, members, search, tags, help and the other pages with the small upper-case style now match the forum and profile pages, with arrows that point the right way in right-to-left languages. Phones keep the smaller phone size.
  • Forum list: on windows 1200 px and wider the latest post column has room for longer names, and the column headings line up exactly with their columns; between 981 and 1199 px the date moves under the name when both do not fit.
  • Prefix filter: the selected "All" filter looks like the other filter chips, and the ring around a selected prefix follows the chip's corners.
  • Phones: in the welcome panel the latest members' pictures no longer cover the letters of letter avatars.
  • Member profile: the handle under the name matches the members list and the profile address (lower case, words joined by hyphens), and the member's title sits on its own line.
  • Moderators: on RaxBoard 1.9.8 build 20261025 or newer, the "Edit" button for a member's custom fields (profile, About tab) opens its window again after a theme update; on older builds nothing changes.

Kuroxis 1.0.39: readable member names and titles that keep their direction



Kuroxis 1.0.39 is out. It requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before, and keeps the colours, logos, Custom CSS and settings you changed. Updating reinstalls the theme's own templates: if you edited them, back them up first. This update changes two of them, the thread page (thread/show) and the forum list row (macros/layout/forum_node_row); the style sheet is unchanged.

  • Thread page, article first post: a member name shown in the colour of the member's group banner could be hard to read (the Moderator green on a white page was 2.3:1). The name now blends the banner colour with the page's text colour, so it stays readable in light and dark mode. RaxBoard 1.9.8 build 20261024 made this change on installed themes, but installing or updating the theme undid it; the theme now carries it itself.
  • Forum list, right-to-left languages: category, forum, sub-forum and latest-thread titles written in another script keep their own direction. On an Arabic page an English title is no longer cut at its start and its closing "?" stays at the end (and the other way round on a left-to-right page), as in the Default theme since RaxBoard 1.9.8 build 20261026.
