Goliath — Theme

A new release is now available on the RaxBoard Marketplace.

Version: 1.0.2 (build 10002)
Compatibility: RaxBoard >=1.9.7

What's new
Goliath 1.0.2

Requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before. Colours, logos and settings
you changed are kept on update. This update changes no templates, but updating
reinstalls the theme's own templates: if you edited them, back them up first.

Fixed

- Letter avatars on the forum home page (members in the welcome banner,
thread starters and participants without a picture): Goliath now uses the
same, one to two shades darker letter-avatar colours as RaxBoard 1.9.8,
with a white letter in light and dark mode. Every letter reads at 4.9:1 or
more (the accessibility minimum is 4.5:1). Before, a white letter on the
bright colours read as low as 1.9:1 in light mode, and the dark letter of
dark mode read 3.5 to 4.1:1 on three colours. This works the same on
RaxBoard 1.9.7 and 1.9.8. The colour dots of forums without an icon, and
coloured forum icons, in the home page's forum list use the same colours,
so in dark mode they are a little darker than before.

Goliath 1.0.3: complete texts and standard font fallbacks



Goliath 1.0.3 is out. It requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before, and keeps the colours, logos and settings you changed. Nothing changes on screen.

  • Theme texts: the package now includes four of Goliath's own texts that earlier packages left out (two sign-in link labels, the line under the sign-in title and a column heading), in all eight languages. The current templates do not show them; they are there for edited templates and translations.
  • Fonts: the font settings no longer name operating-system fonts. The text font stays IBM Plex Sans and the code font Red Hat Mono; while they load, or where they cannot load, the device's own system font is used. If you changed the Sans or Mono family in the style settings, your value is kept.
  • Before you update: updating reinstalls the theme's own templates. This release changes none of them, but if you edited any, back them up first.

Goliath 1.0.4: reply and view counts in thread lists



Goliath 1.0.4 is out. It requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before, and keeps the colours, logos and settings you changed.

  • Thread lists: the counts next to each thread read "replies: 12" and "views: 340" in every language, so a thread with one reply no longer shows "1 replies".
  • Phones: the counts still show as an icon and a number; screen readers read the label with the number.


Updating reinstalls the theme's own templates; if you edited them, back them up first.

Goliath 1.0.5: readable club labels



Goliath 1.0.5 is out. It requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before, and keeps the colours, logos, Custom CSS and settings you changed.

  • Clubs: the "Public" and "Private" labels on club cards showed their text in almost the same colour as the label itself and could hardly be read, and the "Closed" label was faint in light mode. All three now read clearly in light and dark mode.


Nothing else changes in this update.

Goliath 1.0.6: titles keep their own direction



Goliath 1.0.6 is out. It requires RaxBoard core 1.9.7 or newer, as before, and keeps the colours, logos, Custom CSS and settings you changed.

  • Right-to-left boards: forum, category and sub-forum names and the title of the last post in the forum list now keep their own writing direction. On an Arabic board, an English title that is cut off with "…" shows its beginning instead of losing it, and a question mark at the end of a title stays at the end. Arabic titles on an English board are fixed the same way.


Nothing else changes in this update.
